Why Do Nurses Quit During the First Year?

It's a good question with no real cut and dry answer. The most generically cited answer of "I don't know" or "It wasn't for me" doesn't provide much insight. However, I believe the real answer is lack of drive. I mean if you really enjoy helping people and like sticking people with needles then I believe that nursing is one of the most rewarding careers available.
