VA Nursing Schools

Nursing Schools in Virginia
Virginia’s population is influenced by its rural areas, the international population surrounding the Washington, D.C., area and rapidly increasing numbers of Hispanic and elderly individuals within the state.  For nurses in Virginia, the opportunities for education and employment were, at one point, less than remarkable, but due to legislation put into place in the past few years, such as increasing training and education opportunities as well as salaries, more nurses are working and receiving an education in Virginia than predicted.

There are still, however, thousands of positions open for nurses in Virginia, from RNs and LPNs to nurses that specialize in rural health, community health, and for those that speak Spanish. Virginia offers several scholarships for nurses that continue to purse educational goals in Advanced Practice Nursing as well as Nurse Educators.
